01 Molecular Genetic Analysis of Target-Site Herbicide Resistance

Our method combines cutting-edge sequencing technology with in-house developed bioinformatics workflows to rapidly, affordably, and accurately detect all kinds of mutations that cause target-site resistance (TSR) to herbicides. Compared to conventional methods, our approach delivers higher precision and faster turnaround times at a lower cost.

We comprehensively examine all relevant gene regions and analyze large numbers of plants to reliably identify even rare mutations. Thanks to our flexible technology, we can process various sample types quickly and without the limitations of predefined selection criteria.

Your benefits at a glance:

  • Flexible analysis options: Choose between pooled or single-plant testing
  • Broad spectrum: Analyze many monocot and dicot species and target genes in one run
  • Versatile sample type: Works with both leaf tissue and seeds
  • Comprehensive mutation detection: All relevant mutation sites included, no blind spots
  • High-throughput technology: State-of-the-art Nanopore sequencing for fast and accurate results
  • Express turnaround: Project completion possible within just one day
  • Attractive pricing: Volume discounts starting at low sample numbers
  • Clear results: Easy-to-understand reports with presentation-ready data visualizations
  • Unmatched efficiency: The most cost-effective, fastest, and most precise offering on the market

Polyploid plants carry multiple copies of the same gene within their genome. To accurately identify mutations associated with target-site resistance, it is crucial to determine how these mutations are distributed across individual gene copies. Often, not all copies are relevant to resistance – or they may differ in expression – posing a challenge for both research and applied diagnostics.
Our innovative approach precisely separates gene copies and enables their individual analysis – quickly, reliably, and with the flexibility required for complex polyploid plant species.

Do you want to know not only the genotype at single positions of a gene, but also which mutations co-occur on the same chromosome (haplotype)? Are you interested in exploring haplotype structures within and between populations – for example, to assess whether weed populations from neighboring fields share the same resistance haplotype?

Our method combines full-length gene sequencing with bioinformatic phasing to identify haplotypes quickly and accurately – across entire populations and with high reliability.

Our innovative expansion of Nanopore sequencing enables the generation of tens to hundreds of thousands of high-quality gene sequences (> Q30), even from large and heterogeneous pooled samples. With optimized PCR amplification, we achieve molecule lengths of over 10 kb – opening up new possibilities for analyzing complex sample compositions.

We offer comprehensive gene expression analyses, precise analyses of copy number variation (CNV, e.g. of EPSPS) as well as HRM fragment analyses and endpoint analyses - flexible and reliable for a wide range of research applications.

Interested in point-of-care analysis – without logistics, delays or detours, and exactly where the problems arise? Thanks to our modular and mobile technology, we can carry out diagnostics directly in the field and manage the entire process, including sample collection. In the field. At the point-of-care. Anywhere. Get in touch – by phone or email.

We develop tailored solutions to meet your specific needs – flexible, efficient and practice-oriented. Get in touch – by phone or email.
